About Artist:
American artist born in 1951, Michael McCrinck was influenced at an early age by his father, a landscape painter. Experimenting on his own in drawing and painting, McCrinck had developed his own style by the age of sixteen. Furthering his artistic studies in college, McCrinck concentrated on figure drawing and oil painting. It was at this time that he also began his artistic exploration in sculpture. This exploration led, in 1988, to a series of sculptures which incorporated welded copper with oil, and earned him his first gallery showing. Seeking to show fluid movement, McCrinck created sculptures that are vivid, colorful and flamboyant. His rich use of pastels, with strong contrast, accentuates the simple contours of his composition. Mastering the mediums of acrylic, watercolor, sculpture and canvas, he achieves color and forms that both contrast and compliment. Now creating his striking sculptures with aluminum, McCrinck says, " ... I anticipate the unfolding of a more free flowing natural form". Recently McCrinck incorporated his evolution of style into neo-expressionistic images on canvas. He pays homage in each of his paintings to the masters of Fine Art. His appreciation of various art genres and painstaking work to capture their essence is immediately apparent when viewing his paintings. His ability to create an inspiring showcase within the depth and composition, creating light and brilliant color throughout each canvas, has brought him the additional recognition he deserves.
